About me |
My background is rooted in physical fitness, competitive athletics and the field of Sport Psychology. After dabbling in yoga and becoming a certified yoga instructor (ERYT-200) the mind body connection became more and more foundational to my teaching and my life. My interest in positive psychology and performance trickled into a passion for mental health (specializing in stress, anxiety and trauma/PTSD). I returned to school while teaching full time to get a second Masters degree in Counseling and Human Development to become an LPC. As I work with clients on an individual basis, hold workshops and seminars and use yoga, breathwork and mindfulness to improve lives and relationships I know I have found my true calling. Knowing this, I am transitioning (with mixed emotions) from a career of college teaching to counseling full time.
I believe that life is a journey that should be lived fully and that education, self-improvement and serving others with compassion should never end. I teach, counsel and live a life of holistic health and wellness and use a person centered approach when working with clients. My personal interests include teaching yoga and cycling classes, attending conferences, reading, and working as an LPC with my husband who specializes in nutritional consultation and meal prep (at a company we opened called Fit & Faithful Wellness). We have a holistic approach to health that is grounded in evidence based research and positive psychology. |
